Who it suits
The Carlton sits in the useful middle between a purely practical hotel and a palace stay: Art Deco character, a guest-only heated pool in season and easy access to the sea, while still keeping Beaulieu compact and walkable.
The catch
Do not book it as a substitute for La Réserve. It is the smaller, easier-going option. If accessibility matters, request the adapted shower/room configuration when booking rather than assuming every room is equivalent.
