MAMETAS CHECKED

A verification badge. Not a magic stamp.

When you see “Mametas Checked”, the relevant practical information has been checked against identifiable sources on the date shown. The editorial verdict is still a verdict.

01 · What we check

The facts that can ruin a day.

Access, transport, opening periods or hours, ticketing, restrictions and other practical details when they materially affect the trip. We prioritise official and first-party sources.

02 · What the badge means

We checked it. On a stated date.

The badge always carries a date, sometimes a month when that is the level of precision actually documented. The faster a fact can change, the more that date matters.

03 · What it does not mean

Not an inspection. Not a certification.

“Checked” does not mean Mametas personally visited every place, that a business approved our coverage, or that a fact will remain correct indefinitely. Recheck sensitive details close to travel.

04 · The verdict stays editorial

Facts can be checked. Taste has to be argued.

Whether a train exists is factual. Whether Èze deserves your time on a five-day trip is an editorial judgement. We would rather separate the two than disguise an opinion as universal truth.

05 · Affiliate links

Commission does not choose the address.

Some links may be affiliate links. They can support Mametas if you book, but they do not determine inclusion, ordering or the verdict. Affiliate links are labelled when used. Technical affiliate tools may optimise a link or monetisation placement, but never choose the address, its editorial order, a Riviera Fit or Hotel Fit result, or the editorial verdict.

06 · Sources

Show the work instead of demanding trust.

When a page relies on checked practical information, we aim to keep the sources visible on the page or link them clearly. “Trust us” is not a methodology.

07 · Voices on the site

No traveller testimonials.

Mametas does not publish traveller quotes or anonymised or composite testimonials. The only personified voices on the site are the Mametas: five fictional characters whose remarks are editorial commentary, signed as such and never presented as a traveller’s experience. Practical information sits in the editorial text, with its sources.

Mèfi, watch out: the badge covers verification of practical information. Mametas would rather publish a short, documented and opinionated selection than a long, vaguely checked list.
